CONSULTANT SELECTED AS CAREER MASTER
PHOENIX, AZ - National interests in education and technology
and in assisting young people in making wise career
decisions sparked the development of the Internet-based
educational program, Career By Design. As part of the
development of their web-based educational program,
Career By Design selects and highlights Career Masters,
who are professionals who have attained success and
visibility in their careers. Marie Dalloway, Ph.D.,
a Phoenix, Arizona-based sport psychologist and author
has been selected as a Career Master in sport psychology.
A primary objective for the California-headquartered
Career By Design is to assist young people in developing
meaningful careers. Examples of Career Masters include
San Diego mayor Susan Golding; San Diego Padres owner,
John Moores; author and lecturer, Deepak Chopra; Ely
Callway of Callaway Golf.
Marie Dalloway, Director of the Optimal Performance
Institute in Phoenix, Arizona, is the author of six
texts on mental training for athletes. Five of the books
on sport psychology by Marie Dalloway are used as part
of the training given at the national training center
in Orebro, Sweden, which trains the Swedish national
teams and coaches.
Marie Dalloway has done presentations for major companies
as well as for top-level athletes, including the U.S.
Biathlon Team, the Women's World Championship Judo Team,
the Men's World Championship Judo Team, and Leslie Deniz,
the silver medallist in the Women's Discus. She has
done mental training programs with coaches and athletes
at the Olympic Training Centers in Lake Placid, New
York, and in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Portions of
a mental training program she did were nationally televised
by ABC Olympic Sports Coverage. She has acted as a consultant
for the United States Tennis Association (USTA) and
as been a recipient of a Sports Science Grant from the
USTA.
