BOOKS USED WITH SWEDISH NATIONAL TEAMS
PHOENIX, AZ - More and more top-level athletes seeking
the critical edge in performance are incorporating mental
training into their sports regimen. Swedish national
teams and coaches will be receiving mental training
at a special new national training center in Örebro,
Sweden. Five books on sports psychology written by Phoenix-based
sports consultant, Marie Dalloway, Ph.D. will be used
as part of this new program.
The books by Dalloway focus on key mental skills, including
visualization, concentration, and risk taking. Dalloway
states, "These mental skills enhance performance
by helping athletes to perform more consistently and
to maximize more of their athletic potential, especially
under conditions of pressure." Dalloway's books
that will be part of the training materials for the
athletes and coaches are: Visualization: The Master
Skill In Mental Training; Concentration: Focus Your
Mind, Power Your Game; Drive and Determination: Developing
Your Inner Motivation; Risk Taking: Performing Your
Best During Critical Times; and Reflections On The Mental
Side of Sports.
The Swedish Olympic Committee asked the renown sports
psychologist, Lars-Eric Unestâhl, Ph.D. to establish
this center. The tasks for the center include working
with the different national teams, arranging education
for coaches, and developing areas through research.
So far seven of the Swedish national teams have received
training through the Örebro Center.
Marie Dalloway is available for discussion/interviews
on the topics of performance enhancement training in
sports or concentration skills for athletes. |
