Every Young Athlete Destined for Success
Teach Visualization and Create Winners
PHOENIX, AZ: The old conventional wisdom about natural
talent has been debunked by new research. The findings
are clear: the characteristics, qualities, and mental
strategies of top achievers can be learned. Success
in athletics, business, and education is no longer the
purview of the born-to-wins. What makes the difference
and allows some individuals to outperform others? The
common thread is identified as Peak Performance characteristics.
The good news is that learning these characteristics
has never been easier. Performance Media, an Arizona
e-learning production company, has launched its first
CD-ROM in a series of software products that makes up
the Peak Performance Curriculum.
The first in a series, Visualization Exercises for Mental
Preparation is an interactive multi-media presentation
that gives athletes specific practices for developing
the skill of visualization, one of the key mental qualities
related to top performance and high achievement.
Top achievers have certain qualities in common: they
can see the win; they overcome failure quickly, and
they engage in positive self-talk. Athletes and others
can learn to maximize their performance by learning
certain mental skills, such as visualization and concentration.
Top achievers rehearse upcoming situations in their
minds. When tension mounts, they can rely on the rehearsed
experience of having successfully overcome the issue
already.
Visualization for Mental Preparation teaches mental
rehearsal exercises, confidence cues, and even a recovery
exercise to rebound from errors or setbacks.
Fundraising opportunities are available to all chapters
of the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association.
The CD-ROM retails for $69.95 and is available on line
at www.performance-media.com. A portion of the sales
price can be donated to nonprofit MLB players alumni
groups for their youth programs. For more information
on fundraising programs, contact Marie Dalloway, Ph.D.,
